{"id":64073,"date":"2024-01-27T14:49:25","date_gmt":"2024-01-27T14:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/rwanda\/all-news\/kagame-doumbouya-commit-to-greater-ties-between-rwanda-guinea"},"modified":"2024-01-27T15:24:07","modified_gmt":"2024-01-27T15:24:07","slug":"kagame-doumbouya-commit-to-greater-ties-between-rwanda-guinea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/rwanda\/policy\/kagame-doumbouya-commit-to-greater-ties-between-rwanda-guinea","title":{"rendered":"Kagame, Doumbouya commit to greater ties between Rwanda, Guinea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Rwandan President Paul Kagame, and the President of Guinea-Conakry, Mamadi Doumbouya, have expressed interest in furthering relations between their two countries for the benefit of their people.<\/p>\n<p>They made the commitments in their press statements on January 26.<\/p>\n<p>Doumbouya is in Rwanda for a three-day official visit that started on January 25.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Kagame said, the two Heads of State had a one-on-one, and \u201cwe had very productive discussions\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat Rwanda and Guinea want to achieve is prosperity, peace and security for our citizens,\u201d Kagame said.<\/p>\n<p>The President observed that the bilateral relations between the two countries were already yielding positive results.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlready, across a range of sectors, numerous agreements have been signed. We are also exploring opportunities in digitisation, trade, and investments,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very happy to work with Guinea to share some of our home-grown solutions and continue learning from each other,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Observing that no one is being spared from global crisis, Kagame said \u201cbecause of this, we need to find solutions to our own problems, by increasingly working together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have all the resources, in actual fact, it is just a matter of managing them well,\u201d he said, commending Doumbouya for his \u201cefforts in steering Guinea\u2019s transition and staying on the path of stability and development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On his part, Doumbouya said that his working and friendship visit to Kigali is part of the desire \u201cto further consolidate the relationship between our two countries, and to strengthen the bonds of friendship, fraternity between our peoples, and cooperation in the pan-African spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would also like to reiterate here our willingness to work with you because you had confidence in us, and you are one of the first presidents to travel, to visit us in Conakry having confidence in us, and you have believed in us; I just think you are not mistaken,\u201d Doumbouya said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe people of Guinea and its entire government will do everything to strengthen the cooperation that already exists between our two countries in the telecommunications sector, in the infrastructure sector, and especially in the transport sector,\u201d he said, adding \u201cfor us, Kigali and Conakry are the same home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the two Heads of State held that diplomatic presence in Kigali and Conakry prove importing in cementing their relations by bringing their people closer together.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/rwanda\">Rwanda<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Rwanda.
