Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Nigeria head coach Jose Peseiro says he is praying that goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali will be fit for their quarter final clash against Angola on Friday, February 2.<\/p>\n

The agile goalkeeper was stretched off in the 80th minute in the 2-0 win over Cameroon on Saturday, January 27, following an aerial collision with winger Georges-Kevin N\u2019Koudou and Peseiro maintains that he needs his current number one back as early as possible.<\/p>\n

“We will assess the state of Nwabali\u2019s injury in the next 24 to 48 hours. It\u2019s difficult to assess his condition, while we were in the match,\u201d Peseiro said in a post-match conference.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I am hoping that he will be fit for the next match… I want him to play. And the players want him to play.\u201d<\/p>\n

A brace from winger Ademola Lookman ensured that the Super Eagles qualified for the quarterfinals after beating neighbors Cameroon 2-0 at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan in the round of 16 clash on Saturday.<\/p>\n
