Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Rwanda International Innocent Nshuti says he loves scoring goals and he knows that it is the sole reason USL League side One Knoxville SC signed him for.<\/p>\n

Nshuti in January signed a two-year contract with the American club after nearly a decade at APR FC.<\/p>\n

Since signing, the 26-year-old Rwandan striker has been working hard on his fitness in order to keep his body in good shape before he joins his new teammates in the United States.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am ready for the new chapter; I have been training hard for the physical and technical part before joining my new club. I did everything possible to move to a new level and my efforts paid off. I know I have what it takes and I will continue to work hard to keep up my level,\u201d Nshuti told Weekend Sport.<\/p>\n

Nshuti said he has big ambitions for One Knoxville SC as he looks to lead the team\u2019s attack and score goals which remains his priority prior to the move.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a proper striker, I will be looking to score goals and I love that. I\u2019ll do whatever is needed to help the team. If I have to drop into defense, then I will, but winning and scoring are my priorities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

“My scoring instincts will be crucial for the team if I keep on working hard because I have changed my mentality and my physical part. I\u2019m also sure that I will show what I have in my new club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nshuti\u2019s transfer to One Knoxville is delaying pending documents, including visa, air ticket and working permit, to be cleared to move to the United States.<\/p>\n

The striker has established himself as a key player at APR and national team, helping APR to four straight league titles, besides shining in Amavubi\u2019s stunning 2-0 victory over South Africa during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November 2023.<\/p>\n

But he believes he can still do much better at One Knoxville SC and up his game so that he can contribute more to the club and country.<\/p>\n

“To be a better player, you have to change your mentality and that is what I did so that I can help the club and national team. I know what I am capable of. I am an ambitious player and there is no doubt that he is determined to prove his critics wrong this season,\u201d the Amavubi striker said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will continue to work on my fitness, technical and tactical aspects because I feel I will do much better. I think if I become more clinical in front of goal then I have a fair chance of reaching far because I have been impressive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Having progressed through all levels of the national team, from the junior category to the senior level, Nshuti’s journey started from the APR academy in 2015.<\/p>\n

He signed a three-year-deal with Stade Tunisien in 2018 but his spell didn\u2019t last long at the Tunisian side which terminated his contract a year later only for him to return to boyhood side APR FC.<\/p>\n
