Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The government of Rwanda has named two diplomats who will be accredited to the Central African Republic (CAR), making a significant step towards Rwanda\u2019s establishment of a diplomatic mission in the country.<\/p>\n

The appointments made were Olivier Kayumba the Head of the Mission as a Minister Counselor, and Didier Rugina who was appointed the second Counselor in the mission.<\/p>\n

Prior to this appointment Kayumba was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry in charge of Emergency management (MINEMA) a post he has held since December 2017. Kayumba has also previously worked as a Rwandan diplomat in France and Belgium for a period of 10 years.<\/p>\n

Rwanda and Central Africa Republic have previously been seeking to make efforts towards further strengthening of ties, where CAR President, Faustin-Archange Touad\u00e9ra visited Rwanda in August this year.<\/p>\n

Beyond ties on security, where Rwanda is a major contributor to the UN peacekeeping mission in CAR, the two countries have previously signed agreements on defense, mining and oil, as well as investment promotion.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, cabinet also approved the agreement for the appointment of Ambassadors and Honorary Consuls designated to represent their respective countries to Rwanda, the appointments were;<\/p>\n

Ibrahim Sidy Ibrahim Mattar was approved as the ambassador of Libya to Rwanda with residence in Kigali. Others are Maria Alejandra Guerra Ferras De Andrade as the envoy from Chile, Marie Charlotte G. Tang as ambassador of Philippines and Damptey Bediako Asare as High Commissioner of Ghana to Rwanda. All the three will be resident in Nairobi.<\/p>\n

Other appointments were also made in the office Government Spokesperson (OGS) where Alain Mukuralinda was appointed as the deputy spokesperson. In the judiciary, Beatrice Mukamurenzi was appointed as Judge in the Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n

The Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) also saw new appointments of Division Managers of good governance, service delivery, registration, monitoring and evaluations.<\/p>\n
