Rayon Sports midfielder Roger Kanamugire is not taking the Peace Cup quarterfinal second leg against second tier side Vision FC lightly, despite Blues’ 2-0 away package in the first leg.<\/p>\n

Rayon Sports will go into Tuesday\u2019s clash at Kigali Pele Stadium with a two-goal advantage in their bag but Kanamugire insists that the job is not done yet, warning his teammates against underestimating their opponents and, instead, take the game seriously if they are to qualify for the semi-finals.<\/p>\n

“We don’t underestimate opponents. Football is unpredictable, and surprises can happen at any time,\u201d Kanamugire told Times Sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat’s why we prepared for this game just like we do for all matches.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also highlighted the difference between knockout competitions and league matches, acknowledging that losing the match can completely dent their chances of defending the trophy.<\/p>\n

While Rayon Sports\u2019 ultimate goal is to defend the title, the midfielder urged his team to put much focus on the Peace Cup so as to land a ticket to the CAF club competitions next season.<\/p>\n

“Playing for Rayon means striving to win all possible trophies. Even though we’re currently second in the league, we don’t consider winning it impossible. Our main focus now is on the Peace Cup which we want to defend in order to stand a chance to represent the country in the CAF competitions next season,” he said.<\/p>\n

The winner of the Peace Cup wins an automatic ticket to compete in the CAF Confederations Cup.<\/p>\n
