Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Rwanda Cricket Federation boss Stephen Musaale believes that Rwanda’s women are traveling to Accra, Ghana, with enough package to win medals at All African Games in Ghana.<\/p>\n

Rwanda participated in the NCF T20 Invitational Tournament in Nigeria which they used as a preparatory competition for the continental games in Ghana.<\/p>\n

It is the first time that Cricket will be featured in the All Africa Games and, the continental games serve as a qualifier for the Paris 2024 Games, the sport will not debut in the Olympic Games until Los Angeles 2028.<\/p>\n

The women’s edition of cricket in the All African Games runs from March 7 to March 13 and Musaale is confident his charges can excel having already tasted global action in the U19 Women’s Cricket World Cup in South Africa in January 2023.<\/p>\n

“First and foremost, we emphasized camaraderie within the team,” Musaale said.<\/p>\n

“The blend of teamwork and strategic planning are crucial elements of success. I am optimistic about Rwanda’s chances.”<\/p>\n

An undeniably emerging force in women’s cricket on the African continent, Rwanda women were pooled in Group B alongside neighbors Uganda, Kenya as well as Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

Leonard Nhambhuro’s side will play their opening game against Zimbabwe on March 7 before facing Kenya on March 8. They will round up with a game against Uganda on March 10.<\/p>\n

The top two teams from the Group stages qualify for the semifinals.<\/p>\n
