Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Burundian champions Dynamo have forfeited Sunday\u2019s game against Morocco’s FUS Rabat in the Basketball Africa League Kalahari Conference over refusal to comply with the tournament’s jersey requirements.<\/p>\n

The decision was announced by BAL president Amadou Gallo Fall on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Burundian side, participating in the competition for the first time since its inception in 2021, covered BAL sponsor’s “Visit Rwanda” logo on their uniforms with black tape during their opening game against host side Cape Town Tigers.<\/p>\n

The Burundians started the Conference games perfectly with an 86-73 victory but failure to \u2018comply with the league\u2019s rules governing jersey and uniform requirements\u2019 saw them forfeit their second game against FUS Rabat on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The decision comes a day after the Burundian Basketball Federation wrote to BAL proposing that Dynamo play with their own jerseys without mention of the sponsor’s (Visit Rwanda)\u2018s logo.<\/p>\n

It remains unclear if Dynamo will be allowed continue to participate at the Kalahari Conference should they resist wearing sponsor\u2019s jersey.<\/p>\n
