Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Administrators at Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA) have vowed to deal with individuals involved in match-fixing and the use of witchcraft (Juju) in local football.<\/p>\n

For a number of years, allegations regarding illicit activities such as match-fixing and the reliance on Juju to influence results have persisted in Rwandan football, including in top-tier competitions.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the media on Friday, March 15, FERWAFA\u2019s technical advisor Jules Karangwa said stringent measures will be taken against those found culpable of such, as he emphasised the existence of regulations aimed at penalising individuals engaged in match manipulation and related activities.<\/p>\n

“Those involved in such practices will face the consequences as stipulated by our regulations,” he noted.<\/p>\n

He underlined the severity of such practices, highlighting that they not only contravene football regulations but also constitute criminal offenses under the law.<\/p>\n

FERWABA officials say efforts to combat illicit activities will be prioritised in the upcoming new season as part of strategies to enhance the international reputation of Rwandan football and foster a positive image.<\/p>\n
