Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The educational landscape is in a constant state of evolution, particularly in Africa, where keeping up with industry trends and global practices is crucial for advancing standards. To this end, the University of Rwanda-College of Education (UR-CE), in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation through the Leaders in Teaching (LIT) programme, will host the 2nd International Conference on Re-shaping Education for Sustainable Development.<\/p>\n

Scheduled to take place from May 13 to 15, following the success of its inaugural event in 2023, this conference is pivotal for advancing educational innovation and excellence.<\/p>\n

According to a press release from the University, “UR-CE remains committed to fostering innovation and excellence in education.<\/p>\n

“The conference aims to convene educational researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the globe to explore and share insights on shaping the educational landscape for the 21st century.”<\/p>\n

Themed ‘Re-examining Quality Education and Professionalism in the 21st Century,’ the conference will tackle critical topics such as: Enhancing education quality through policy, leadership, and management, teacher professional development, industry-academia collaboration, educational technology, pedagogical innovations, inclusive education, adult literacy, early childhood education, among others.<\/p>\n

These conversations aim to address the evolving needs of society, technological advancements, and the changing landscape of work.<\/p>\n

UR\u2019s Acting Vice Chancellor Assoc. Prof Didas Kayihura Muganga speaks to journalists in Kigali on March 28, 2024.<\/p>\n

Distinguished keynote speakers, including Dr Jenni Hayman from the University of Toronto, Sai S H Va\u0308yrynen from the University of Helsinki, and Peter Mitka from the University of Aberdeen, will share insights on competency-based education, transformative pedagogy, and adult education in sub-Saharan Africa, respectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis conference serves as a platform for educators and policymakers to collaborate, innovate, and drive positive change in education,\u201d states the press release from UR-CE.<\/p>\n

The event will bring together speakers and participants from diverse backgrounds, collectively shaping the future of education.<\/p>\n

The conference will be offered in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join either in person or virtually.<\/p>\n

Attendees can expect networking opportunities, professional development sessions, and the presentation of research findings, which will benefit both institutions and individuals.<\/p>\n
