Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>President Paul Kagame interacted with a delegation from the Royal College of Defence studies of the United Kingdom, led by Lt Gen (Rtd) Sir George Norton, the Commandant of the College, at Urugwiro Village, on Saturday, May 18.<\/p>\n

“They discussed Rwanda\u2019s history including the Genocide against the Tutsi and the military leadership that brought it to an end, Rwanda\u2019s transformation journey in the last 30 years, key lessons learned and the country\u2019s commitment to achieving socio-economic transformation,” reads a post by at Urugwiro Village on X.<\/p>\n

In Rwanda for a week-long study tour, Sir Norton’s delegation met with Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Chief of Defence Staff Gen Mubarakh Muganga on May 15.<\/p>\n

They also visited the RDF Command and Staff College, the Rwanda Peace Academy in Musanze, and the Dallaire Institute for Children and Security.<\/p>\n

The delegation also paid tribute to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi at Kigali Genocide Memorial and later visited the Campaign Against Genocide Museum.<\/p>\n

The tour, which began on May 14, will conclude on May 19.<\/p>\n

The Royal College of Defence Studies trains senior officers from the British Armed Forces, Civil Service, and Diplomatic Service in international security and national defence.<\/p>\n
