Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Bugesera FC head coach Francis Haringingo has vowed to build a stronger team ready to give a challenge to any opponent next season after escaping relegation on the final day of the just-concluded Primus National League campaign.<\/p>\n

The orange side was on the brink of relegation until they defeated Etoile de l’Est 3-0 on their home ground, Ngoma Stadium, to stay top division. The latter\u2019s loss saw them drop to the second division.<\/p>\n

“One thing I\u2019m certain about, everybody will know what a good team we can be\u2013 not just in participating, we also want to win the trophies next season,\u201d Haringingo told Times Sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we are very proud of the achievement of last season. The aim, going forward, is to have a competitive team which is capable of winning trophies,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Bugesera FC reached the final of the Peace Cup before losing the trophy to eventual winners Police FC.<\/p>\n

Haringingo said it was a good achievement for his team but he insists he wants more as long as they had a chance to stay in the topflight league.<\/p>\n

“I am happy that we stayed at the top division but I believe we could have done better than winning at the last game. Nonetheless, it is not bad to stay up and play the final of the Peace Cup. I am confident next season Bugesera shall have a stronger team (than last season).\u201d<\/p>\n

The Burundian gaffer is in talks with Bugesera to extend his contract, he took over from Eric Nshimiyimana who was sacked on November 14, due to a string of poor results in the Primus National League.<\/p>\n

Bugesera have finished the 2023-24 league season in the 13th position with 32 points.<\/p>\n

He won the Peace Cup twice, first with Mukura in 2018 and last season with Rayon Sports and also he coached Kenyan Premier League side Sofapaka.<\/p>\n

Bugesera is planning to use a budget amounting to over Rwf600 million next season, as they are in talks with some partners and sponsors to raise their budget.<\/p>\n
