AS Muhanga head coach Abdul Mbarushimana has said that his side is ready to jump on the last-minute opportunity to play the second division playoffs when they take on Vision FC at Mumena Stadium on Wednesday, May 22.<\/p>\n

AS Muhanga were informed about their qualification for the playoffs on Tuesday, May 21, just 24 hours before the kickoff, replacing Espoir FC who were disqualified from the playoffs after the Rwanda FA discovered that the club fielded Congolese striker Christian Milembe Watanga who was not eligible player to play in Rwanda.<\/p>\n

The player, it was reported, did not have the license issued by the Rwandan football federation (FERWAFA) and he was presenting a fake one during the five matches he played for the club.<\/p>\n

Having been relegated to the Second Division in 2021, Muhanga is eager to return to top-flight football and a \u2018determined\u2019 Mbarushimana has no doubts about that.<\/p>\n

“Everyone is excited and ready to be in the playoffs,\u201d Mbarushimana said. “We didn\u2019t stop training because we knew we would qualify as soon as Espoir are charged for using ineligible players,\u201d he told Times Sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe motivation may have wavered due to uncertainty, but now we are ready to fight,” he added.<\/p>\n

The forthcoming Ferwafa second division mini-league playoffs will determine the two teams that will be promoted to the top-flight league for the 2024\/25 season, replacing Sunrise FC and Etoile de l\u2019Est which were relegated from the just-concluded Primus National League.<\/p>\n
