Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Belgian coach Ivan Minnaert has said goodbye to Gorilla FC\u2019s coaching staff, players and fans as he leaves the club after just three months in charge.<\/p>\n

The former Rayon Sports tactician left Gorilla FC after failing to agree on a new deal to coach the club next season.<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately, I will not be part of the team next season, but I will forever wish the best for the club. I will take a few days to rest and refresh before thinking about my next destination.\u201d Minneart said<\/p>\n

The coach said he is leaving the club with his head held high after rescuing Gorilla FC from relegation at the end of the just-concluded Primus National League.<\/p>\n

“It was maybe a short period where, for the first time, I found each staff member working for the same purpose. Thank you for all the help receiving to realise our mission.” Minnaert said in his farewell message.<\/p>\n

“Thanks to everyone in the club. At least I want to give grace to the club’s president and thanks for bringing me back the faith in football and football loving people. Gorilla will be forever in my heart. Also thanks to all the people that have continued in believing in me in the country” Minneart added<\/p>\n

Musanze FC head coach Sosthene Habimana is linked to a move to the club as potential successor of the Belgian.<\/p>\n

Minnaert, 57, is not new to Rwandan football, having previously coached Rayon Sports on two spells (2015-16 and 2018) and Mukura Victory Sports in 2017.<\/p>\n

He has been on the African continent since 2002 where he also coached Black Leopards, AFC Leopards, Ittihad Tripoli and Djoliba of Mali among others.<\/p>\n
