Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Musanze, the capital of Rwanda\u2019s Northern Province, is currently hosting a major gathering of security experts, scholars, policymakers, researchers and government officials, who are attending this year\u2019s Symposium on Peace, Security and Justice.<\/p>\n

Running under the theme, Peace and Security in the Evolving Global Dynamics: Implications for Africa, the two-day forum is taking place at the National Police College, a University of Rwanda-affiliated training centre.<\/p>\n

The event takes place at a time a group of students drawn from nine countries is a month away from completing a year-long course at the college. The students are from Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania and hosts Rwanda.<\/p>\n

The symposium was opened by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General Emmanuel Ugirashebuja, who urged a critical analysis of the global security challenges and how they affect the African continent, with a view to devising inclusive and durable solutions to violence and extremism.<\/p>\n

The symposium attracted participants from Rwanda and abroad, including students from nearly 10 African countries attending the National Police College in Musanze.<\/p>\n
