Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Health reported a total of four confirmed cases of mpox in the country on Friday, August 16, since July 27 all of which are connected to recent international travel.<\/p>\n

Of the four cases, two have recovered and were discharged, it is noted.<\/p>\n

The announcement, posted on X, highlights the ongoing need for stringent monitoring and management of cross-border health risks.<\/p>\n

As noted, the Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) and other relevant organisations, is actively engaged in comprehensive contact tracing and case investigations to curb any potential virus spread.<\/p>\n

Additionally, enhanced screening protocols are in place at entry points to identify and address suspected cases promptly.<\/p>\n

The ministry assured the public that the situation is well-managed and stressed that Rwanda remains a safe destination for both residents and visitors.<\/p>\n

\u201cRigorous precautions are being implemented to prevent further cases.\u201d<\/p>\n

In light of these developments, the ministry urges the public to follow essential preventive measures. These include maintaining good hand hygiene by frequently washing hands with soap and water or using hand sanitizer.<\/p>\n

People are also advised to avoid close contact with anyone exhibiting symptoms of mpox\u2014such as rash, fever, and swollen lymph nodes\u2014and to seek prompt medical attention if such symptoms arise.<\/p>\n

Residents and travelers are encouraged to stay informed through official health channels and adhere to the guidelines provided by health authorities.<\/p>\n
