Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Rwandan coach Innocent Seninga has said that he is adapting to Djiboutian Premier League as he eyes fortunes with his new side Gendarmerie FC.<\/p>\n

Seninga was unveiled as new head coach of Gendarmerie on September 2 after agreeing to coach the club on a one-year deal.<\/p>\n

After spells Police FC, Etincelles, Musanze FC and Sunrise FC in the Rwanda Premier League, the tactician told Times Sport that he is ready to embark on new challenge out of the country and that he wants to see the club representing Djibouti at the continental scene under his stewardship.<\/p>\n

Djibouti top tier side Gendarmerie FC unveil Seninga as head coach<\/p>\n

\u201cI am trying to cope with the new duties. I joined Gendarmerie to face a whole new challenge outside the country so that I learn and improve my coaching level\u201d Seninga said.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m happy to be here, to coach this club. I have great ambitions; first I want to win a domestic trophy with this club then we continue with other competitions.\u201d<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m a hard worker at work and I am very demanding in training. It has been a big call for me,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Seninga, 44, had been without a club throughout the 2023\/24 season after Sunrise FC fired him for failing to lead them to the top six at the end of the 2022\/23 season.<\/p>\n

He now hopes to make his comeback to the touchline noticed by propelling Gendarmerie FC to the title after finishing in 6th place in the 2023\/24 season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am here to improve the level of the team and I want to make sure that it moves to another level and I believe I have what it takes to do it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Before becoming a coach, Seninga played for a number of top tier clubs in Rwanda including Flash FC, which was later rebranded to AS Muhanga, Intare FC, SC Kiyovu, defunct Rwandatel FC and AS Kigali.<\/p>\n

He was a Senior Five student when he received his first call up in the U-20 national team for CECAFA tournament that took place in Nairobi, Kenya in 1999. He also featured for Amavubi\u2019s senior team before ending his playing career pretty prematurely.<\/p>\n

Seninga becomes the second Rwandan coach to move to a foreign club this season after Andre Casa Mbungo who joined Jamus FC of South Sudan.<\/p>\n
