Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>APR FC striker Jacques Tuyisenge has said that he is fit to help his side in their title push when the top flight league resumes this week. The military side\u2019s skipper was sidelined through an injury he sustained in October during APR\u2019s first-leg match against Tunisia\u2019s Etoile du Sahel in the second round of the CAF Champions League.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old Rwanda international, who as a result missed a number of APR\u2019s league games in the past two months, returned to the club\u2019s first team training last week as he races against the clock to be back in good shape ahead of the league return.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was out of football action for a long time due to injury but I am now ready to help my team when the league resumes. I am in good shape and I am fit enough to play,\u201d Tuyisenge told the club\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

Despite the injury, the striker was rather seen on the sideline taking over the coaching role during the army side\u2019s 2-2 draw against Etoile de l’Est last month, after APR head coach Adil Erradi Mohamed and his technical staff tested positive for Covid-19.<\/p>\n

The former Gor Mahia striker, who joined the club in 2020 on a Rwf 48 million move, says he is working hard to regain his form and lead his club\u2019s search for goals in the upcoming fixtures.<\/p>\n

APR, who have two games in hand, sit second on the league table with 23 points after nine games, a point behind table leaders SC Kiyovu. Tuysenge admits that the race is tougher this season but he remains optimistic APR can retain the title unbeaten for a third successive league campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe league looks tougher this season because the clubs have strengthened their squads, it is good to see it becoming more competitive.\u201d<\/p>\n
