Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>APR FC could, among other sanctions, forfeit their match day 8 fixture against Gorilla FC after fielding seven foreign players at the same time as opposed to the six allowed by the existing foreign players\u2019 quota rule.<\/p>\n

APR coach Darko Novic started six foreign players in his team that played out a goalless draw against Gorilla FC at Kigali Pele Stadium on Sunday, November 3. They include Congolese goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzila, Ghanaian duo Seidou Yasif Dauda and Richmond Lamptey, Senegalese Aliou Souane, Malian winger Mahamadou Lamine Bah, and Nigerian striker Victor Mbaoma.<\/p>\n

APR\u2019s foreign players increased to seven when Novic made a double substitution in the second half, bringing in Nigerian Nwobodo Chidiebere and Mamadou Sy for Arsene Tuyisenge and Lamptey respectively.<\/p>\n

The military side played at least five minutes with seven foreign players on the pitch until the coaches were made to make another substitution and replaced Lamine Bah with Alain Kwitonda.<\/p>\n

The foreign players\u2019 quota rule recently amended and issued by the Rwanda FA on September 1 indicates that the number of foreign players in the league has been raised to 10 up from six while the clubs are not allowed to exceed six players on the pitch.<\/p>\n

Only six will be allowed to start a match, while the remaining four can start on the bench.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Marines FC came from behind to defeat Muhazi FC 2-1 at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu while, at Huye Stadium, Mukura Victory Sports were held to a 0-0 draw by AS Kigali.<\/p>\n

As things stand, Police FC stay at the top of the table with 15 points, level on points with Gorilla FC who climbed to second, having played a game more while Rayon Sports are third with 14 points, although they have played two game less.<\/p>\n

APR FC are now 14th with 5 points while Kiyovu remain at the bottom with three points, having lost 4-0 at the hands of Rayon Sports on Saturday. It their sixth consecutive defeat in the league.<\/p>\n
