Africa-Press – Rwanda. <\/strong><\/span>Volleyball enthusiasts in Africa have an exciting calendar year ahead, with several high-profile tournaments set to showcase the continent\u2019s talent.<\/p>\n

From club-level championships to youth and beach volleyball events, 2025 promises to be a year filled with thrilling action on the court.<\/p>\n

Here is a rundown of the key volleyball events to look forward to across Africa in the next 12 months:<\/p>\n

Zone 5 Volleyball Club Championship (February 26 \u2013 March 3)<\/p>\n

The Zone 5 Volleyball Club Championship will take place in Uganda, bringing together the top teams from 12 countries in the region. The top three teams from this competition will earn a qualification for the prestigious African Volleyball Championship.<\/p>\n

In the 2023 edition, Rwanda\u2019s Police VC won the competition for the first time after overcoming Uganda\u2019s Sport-S in four sets (3-1). On the women\u2019s side, Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) fell to Kenya Pipeline Corporation in straight sets (3-0) at BK Arena in Kigali.<\/p>\n

2025 African Volleyball Championship (April 1-30)<\/p>\n

The African Volleyball Championship will feature top-performing teams across the continent.<\/p>\n

The competition will bring together the best teams, men and women, to compete for continental glory. For the women\u2019s category, the championship will be held in Nigeria from April 1-4, while the men\u2019s category will take place in Libya from April 17-30.<\/p>\n

APR Volleyball Club made history when they lifted the 2023 women\u2019s African Volleyball Championship.<\/p>\n

CAVB U21 Beach Volleyball Championship (May 16-30)<\/p>\n

This tournament will showcase Africa\u2019s emerging talent in beach volleyball, with players born on or after January 1, 2006, eligible to participate.<\/p>\n

Governed by the Confederation of Africa Volleyball (CAVB) regulations, this championship promises to spotlight the future stars of the sport.<\/p>\n

Host countries and dates are yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

2025 U20 African Nations Volleyball Championship<\/p>\n

Youth volleyball will take center stage as teams comprising players born on or after January 1, 2006, compete for the U20 African Nations title.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Tunisia demonstrated dominance by winning the African Boys\u2019 U18 Nations Championship and the African Women\u2019s U20 Nations Championship.<\/p>\n

Host countries and dates are yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

2025 U16 African National Volleyball Championship<\/p>\n

This championship will focus on the youngest category of players, born on or after January 1, 2010. It provides a platform for young talents to gain international exposure and experience early in their careers.<\/p>\n

CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Cup<\/p>\n

The CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Cup is another highlight on the 2025 calendar. In the previous edition of 2024, Rwanda\u2019s women\u2019s team secured an impressive fifth-place finish despite tough competition, while the men\u2019s team pulled out in the middle of the competition due to injuries.<\/p>\n

The upcoming tournament offers an opportunity for redemption and further growth.<\/p>\n
