La nouvelle est tomb\u00e9e en d\u00e9but de soir\u00e9e ce mardi apr\u00e8s que la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration africaine de football (CAF) a confirm\u00e9 que Sao Tom\u00e9-et-Principe a gagn\u00e9 en appel devant la Commission de discipline de l\u2019instance supr\u00eame du football africain. Le s\u00e9lectionneur du Club M, Tony Fran\u00e7ois a, du reste, annonc\u00e9 la nouvelle aux joueurs au terme de la s\u00e9ance de mardi \u00e0 Trianon.<\/p>\n

Cela fait deux semaines qu\u2019une pr\u00e9s\u00e9lection a \u00e9t\u00e9 constitu\u00e9e par le staff technique de la Mauritius Football Association (MFA). Compos\u00e9e de 24 \u00e9l\u00e9ments dont neuf expatri\u00e9s, elle pr\u00e9parait son premier rendez-vous des \u00e9liminatoires de la CAN 2023 face \u00e0 la Guin\u00e9e-Bissau. Cette rencontre \u2013 pr\u00e9vue pour le 9 juin \u00e0 Marrakech \u2013 s\u2019inscrivait dans la joute inaugurale de cette campagne de qualification.<\/p>\n

Lors du tour pr\u00e9liminaire de la CAN 2023, organis\u00e9 \u00e0 Maurice les 24 et 27 mars, la MFA avait accus\u00e9 Sao Tom\u00e9-et-Principe d\u2019avoir align\u00e9 un joueur qui n\u2019\u00e9tait pas \u00e9ligible puisque le test PCR de ce dernier datait de plus de 72 heures avant le match alors que selon le protocole, les tests doivent \u00eatre effectu\u00e9s 48 heures avant le coup d\u2019envoi.<\/p>\n

Ayant log\u00e9 une plainte \u00e0 l\u2019issue du match aller, Maurice avait remport\u00e9 le match sur tapis vert (3-0) apr\u00e8s que le Comit\u00e9 disciplinaire de la CAF lui avait donn\u00e9 gain de cause, ouvrant ainsi la voie aux qualifications. Outre son \u00e9limination, Sao Tom\u00e9-et-Principe s\u2019\u00e9tait aussi vu infliger une amende de $10, 000.<\/p>\n

Pour sa part, la cellule de communication de la Mauritius Football Association (MFA) a expliqu\u00e9 que des d\u00e9veloppements sont \u00e0 pr\u00e9voir apr\u00e8s avoir subi ce revers. \u00abCe sera l\u2019actualit\u00e9 de ces prochains jours car des d\u00e9veloppements sont \u00e0 pr\u00e9voir\u00bb, laisse-t-on entendre.<\/p>\n
