Africa-Press – Senegal. The Léopold Sédar Senghor cultural complex in Pikine hosted, on Saturday, a cultural evening called « Sorano chez-vous », a fusion show organized by the Daniel Sorano National Theater, in concert with the City hall in the suburbs of Dakar, found the APS.
The cultural activity is part of the desire of the National Theater Company Daniel Sorano to decentralize its cultural events in order to « reconnect with the Senegal of the depths », explained to the press, its Director General Ousmane Barro Dione.
« It’s a vision that consists of reconnecting Sorano with the Senegal of the depths. We have done this in several localities. Today we are in Pikine », he said shortly before the start of the cultural evening.
He recalled the mission of the Daniel Sorano National Theater Company, which consists in promoting cultural diversity and promoting Senegalese cultural heritage.
« And for that, we cannot limit ourselves to the siege. This is why, for three months, we had initiated decentralization tours within the country, » said Ousmane Barro Dione.
He assured that this activity will be organized in other communes of the Dakar region, in particular in Guédiawaye, Rufisque, Thiaroye, Ouakam etc.
The Daniel Sorano National Theater Company was inaugurated on July 17, 1965 by President Léopold Sédar Senghor.
