SENEGAL-FOOTBALL / LONASE donates 150 million to the Senegalese Professional Football League

Africa-Press – Senegal. The Senegalese National Lottery (LONASE) on Thursday presented a check for 150 million CFA francs to the Senegalese Professional Football League (LSFP) to support league 1 and league 2 teams in performance improvement.

« I will hand over on behalf of LONASE, a check for 150 million CFA francs to the Senegalese Football League, of which 100 million will go to the teams of league 1 and league 2 », explained the director general of LONASE, Lat Diop, at the annual LSFP grant ceremony.

According to Mr. Diop, « each Ligue 1 team will receive four million CFA francs, for a total amount of 56 million. Each Ligue 2 team will be entitled to two million francs, for a total of 28 million CFA francs.

« Fifteen million will be given to the team that wins the Ligue 1 national championship. I extend my congratulations to the club presidents. We hope that this support will contribute to improving performance, » he continued. He congratulated the Federation and the Ministry of Sports for their contributions to the influence of Senegalese football.

The general manager of LONASE announced that « 70 million FCFA » will be donated to the Senegalese Basketball Federation (FSBB). “Basketball has brought us many successes and we are praying that Senegal will win the next women’s Afrobasket scheduled for August in Rwanda,” he said. He promised that LONASE will continue to “accompany” the country’s sports structures, amateur football and many other disciplines for the influence of sport in Senegal.

The president of the LSFP, Djibril Wade, assured that “this beautiful kitty will certainly contribute to the improvement of the operating conditions of the clubs, in a rather unfavorable economic context and to ensure their financial stability”.

« For two years, the League has been committed to a new dynamic of progress and innovation to give better interactivity to our championship. This dynamic has strongly contributed to our victory in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and the African Cup of Nations Under 20 (CAN), » explained Mr. Wade.

« You have understood the social role of your company and the mission assigned by the State to national companies to support sport and football in particular. This will help us to further enhance our league and our championship,” he said.
