Africa-Press – Senegal. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has received four declarations of candidacy for the organization of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2027, says a statement from the governing body of African football arrived Thursday at the APS.
The three new candidatures, which are those of Algeria, Botswana and Egypt, come on top of the joint one from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Senegal had expressed last December its intention to organize the CAN 2027 but without so far taking any official act in this direction.
The candidate associations have until May 23 to submit their final file, as well as all the related documents.
CAF will hold the inspector visits to the candidate countries from June 1 to July 15, 2023.
The CAF Executive Committee announced in early April that the names of the host countries of CAN 2023 and that of 2025 would be announced before September 2023.
