Africa-Press – Senegal. Prime Minister Amadou Ba, also in charge of Sports, has invited the Senegalese under-17 football team which will face Morocco in the final of the African Cup this Friday. Africa of the nations of the category, to show « courage and abnegation ».
« As you prepare to play this unprecedented final against the selection of Morocco, a brotherly and friendly country, I would like, (…), ask you to show courage and abnegation, to bear in mind that you represent a nation that is respected and considered, and whose notoriety goes far beyond the borders of the African continent,” he said in a speech addressed to the U17 Cubs.
Amadou Ba invited the players to “be up to it. « Your behavior, on the occasion of this final, will therefore have to be up to what your country represents in the world, that is to say a behavior where the values of Jom (courage), of Fitt , determination, but also empathy and respect for others,” he said.
He pointed out that the players had already practiced these values »throughout the competition ».
« Et aujourd’hui, face au Maroc, il s’agit de parachever le récital, et par la grâce de Dieu, de sortir victorieux de cette dernière confrontation », a dit Amadou Ba.
Il a félicité les joueurs pour « les moments de joie et d’allégresse » apportés au pays et aux Sénégalais ainsi que leur « parcours brillant et historique » dans cette CAN et la qualification à la prochaine Coupe du monde de la catégorie.
»Félicitations à vous, chers lionceaux, et à vos encadreurs chevronnés et inspirés pour le travail exceptionnel et pour les résultats encourageants et prometteurs que vous avez déjà obtenus. », a-t-il conclu.
