
Africa-Press – Senegal. The African Football Confederation (CAF) has decided to increase by 40% the financial allocation granted to the winners of the Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup, announced on Friday , the governing body of African football.
According to CAF, this « new prize structure » for the Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup is in line with « the commitment of Patrick Motsepe, the President of CAF, to make the competitions globally competitive and above all self-sufficient African football clubs.
Thus, the winner of the CAF Champions League will receive four million US dollars, or 2,418,000,000 CFA francs against 2,500,000 US dollars (1,511,250,000 F FCA).
The financial endowment of the winner of the CAF Confederation Cup has increased from 1,250,000 US dollars, to 2,000,000 US dollars, or 1,209,000,000 CFA francs.
The first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final will oppose the Young Africans Football Club of Tanzania to the Sports Union of the Medina of Algiers (USMA) on May 28.
The return leg is scheduled for June 3
