
Africa-Press – Senegal. The daily newspapers received by the Senegalese Press Agency (APS) focus on the Ousmane Sonko-Adji Sarr case, judged in special hearing, this Tuesday, before the Criminal Chamber of Dakar.
Opened on May 16, the trial for alleged rape of opponent Ousmane Sonko was postponed to May 23, in a special hearing. The trial had opened without the mayor of Ziguinchor, retired for a few days in this city in southern Senegal of which he is the city councilor.
Ousmane Sonko said he had decided to no longer collaborate with the courts in this politico-judicial affair which has held Senegal in suspense since March 2021 and in the context of which he is accused of « repeated rapes » and « death threats » presumed by a masseuse from Dakar.

Le leader du parti Pastef- les-Patriotes avait posé des conditions préalables à sa présence au procès, exigeant, entre autres, le respect de son itinéraire pour se rendre au tribunal, la levée des barricades érigées aux alentours de son domicile dakarois, à la Cité Keur Gorgui.
For Sud Quotidien, Sonko is “facing his destiny”. « As during the previous hearing boycotted by the leader of Pastef in the name of civil disobedience, this new meeting which is at the center of the debates, promises to be crucial for the former candidate who came third in the last presidential election », points out the newspaper.
Le Quotidien reports that the leader of Pastef did not leave Ziguinchor on Monday evening to take part in the trial.
« Sonko still snubs Justice », says WalfQuotidien, referring to a long judicial soap opera in sight. « Waited at the bar of the Criminal Chamber of Dakar, Ousmane Sonko, has decided, according to reliable sources, not to appear until the conditions he has set are not met », writes in his columns the log.
« Sonko, the last fight for survival », according to the daily Bës Bi. “On this Tuesday, the day of his trial in the criminal chamber, Ousmane Sonko is living, from Ziguinchor where he has taken refuge, the

, ”writes the newspaper.
