Africa-Press – Senegal. A new death was added to the list of casualties on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 16 since the start of the protests on Thursday, APS learned from the Ministry of the Interior.

“There was a death yesterday (Saturday). With the nine dead on Thursday and the six on Vendtedi, the death toll has been revised to 16 since the start of the protests,” the same source told APS.

Violent demonstrations took place in the Senegalese capital and in other cities in Senegal, including Ziguinchor, following the announcement of the conviction of opponent Ousmane Sonko to two years in prison for « youth corruption ». , in his trial for rape and death threats against Adji Sarr, a former masseuse, employee of a beauty salon in Dakar.
