Africa-Press – Senegal. Morocco’s national under-23 football team qualified for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in the category on Tuesday after widely defeated Ghana, 5-1, in a match counting for the second day of this competition.

Morocco, which hosts the CAN under 23 (June 24-July 8), was already leading 3-1 at half-time, thanks in particular to Amir Richardson, who opened the scoring in the 7th minute. Ismaël Saibari (13e mn) and Yanis Begraoui (30mn), consolidated the lead taken by the Moroccan team in this match. Salim Adams reduced the score for Ghana in the 43rd minute of the game.

In the second period, Yanis Begraoui scored his second personal goal and his team’s 4e (53e mn). Abdessamad Ezzalzouli (48e mn) then came to complete the Moroccan domination by signing his third goal of the competition. He had already scored twice against Guinea in the opening match, won (2-1) by Morocco, in group A.

Guinea, precisely, beat (3-1) Congo for its second pool match, which allows it to take second place in the standings, with the same number of points as Congo, but a goal- more favorable average (+1 versus -3).

Aguibou Camara (10e mn), Jacques Bowamba (54th mn) and Algassime Bah – author of his second goal in this competition – are the scorers of Syli.

Yann Ngatse reduced the score in the 40e ​​mn for the Leopards of Congo, who had evolved to 10 since the 72e mn with the expulsion of goalkeeper Dhody Foutou.

The CAN continues with the second day of Pool B scheduled for Wednesday.

Egypt faces Mali at 5 p.m. GMT, as a curtain raiser for Gabon-Niger, a match scheduled for 8 p.m.
