Africa-Press – Senegal. Actors of urban cultures in Kaffrine (center) have just benefited from subsidies of more than 20 million CFA francs from the Ministry of Culture and Historical Heritage, financial support intended to accompany them in the realization of their projects.
The beneficiaries received their grants from the Minister in charge, Aliou Sow, on Tuesday, under the grants allocated by the Urban Cultures Development Fund to the regions of Kaffrine, Diourbel, Kaolack and Fatick.
Les acteurs des cultures urbaines de Kaffrine ont reçu au total 20 millions 500 000 francs CFA, incluant un appui financier pour la Tabaski dont ont bénéficié 11 acteurs culturels de Koungheul et Kathiote.

« Les communes de Kaffrine et Gniby, dans le cadre de la convention signée lors du dernier Festival national des arts et cultures (Fesnac) avec le ministère de la Culture, pour la promotion et l’accompagnement de la culture, ont reçu leurs premiers chèques, de quinze millions de francs CFA sur les trente millions pour Kaffrine, et cinq millions de FCFA pour la commune de Gniby sur les vingt millions de FCFA, concernant les premières tranches », a détaillé Aliou Slow.
The subsidies granted to these cultural actors relate to structuring, training, events, production, creation, distribution and mobility, that is to say travel, noted the Minister of Culture and Historical heritage, in the presence of the administrative and territorial authorities of the region.
“In the vision of the Head of State […], President Macky Sall, territorial equity occupies an important place in politics. At one point, we wanted to decentralize, to correct certain odds in the distribution of shares, ”he said.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, the artist Big Ndiaga from Koungheul praised and magnified the « inclusive approach » of the Minister of Culture and Historical Heritage, who, according to him, has continued to support cultural actors since his arrival at the head of the Ministry of Culture and Historical Heritage.
