Africa-Press – Senegal. Senegal’s beach soccer team will face Iran’s team this Friday at 13:00 GMT on the first day of the discipline’s Nations Cup in Russia.
The Nations Cup is organized by Beach Soccer Worldwide. It opposes the four winning teams of the African, Asian, European and American championships. These are Senegal, Iran, Russia and the United Arab Emirates replacing Brazil, package.
This match is the first between the Lions and Iran, reigning Asian champions. On Saturday, they will face Russia, the host country of the competition, at 12:00 GMT, before facing the United Arab Emirates, Sunday, at 10:00 GMT.
This competition will serve as preparation for the seven-time African champions for the World Cup in the discipline scheduled for February 2024 (15-25), in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Beach Lions finished at the foot of the podium in the last edition organized in 2021, in Russia, and won by Portugal.
Mamadou Diallo’s men were recently (June 30) finalists in the African Beach Games beach soccer tournament against Morocco. They had lost on the score of 4 shots on goal to 3. At the end of regulation time, the score was 3 goals everywhere.
