African Karate Championship: four Senegalese competing in Kata and Kumite, Thursday

Africa-Press – Senegal. The Senegalese karatekas Fama Samassa, Mouhamadou Moustapha Gaye, Ismaila Barry and Fallou Ndiaye start this Thursday, the African Karate Championship in Morocco, in kumite and kata.

Mouhamadou Moustapha Gaye (-63 kg) will face the Cameroonian Wilfred Habib Tayue Mgbam, in Kumite (conventional karate fight).

The second fight for the Senegal team will pit Fama Samassa against Moroccan Lahwou Safia, in the under 54 kg category.

Fallou Ndiaye (cadet) and Ismaila Barry (junior) will appear on the tatami to take the Kata test (sequence of karate techniques)

About 1,000 participants from 27 African countries are taking part in this tournament in Casablanca.
