The mayors of the 13 municipalities benefiting from the Cadastre and Land Securing Project (PROCASEF) in the Louga region were made aware on Tuesday of the application of the principle of almost free demarcation fees, indicated the head of the regional unit for the implementation of the said project in the valley of the Senegal and Ferlo rivers, Soukeyna Diakhaté.
« PROCASEF aims to support the target municipalities in the systematic registration of property rights, and for this the project has deemed it necessary to make boundary marking costs almost free throughout the project, » she said in a statement. interview with journalists following an information workshop for mayors on the application of the principle of virtually free demarcation fees for the registration of land rights.
“This principle refers to the fact that the issuance of land documents is carried out, if not free of charge, at least according to a principle of quasi-free, for the holders of rights, all the related costs being borne by PROCASEF”, a- she explained.
Mme Diakhaté a souligné que « les communes cibles et partenaires du PROCASEF dans la région de Louga sont au nombre de 13, Sakal, Leona, Ngueune Sarr, Thieppe, Bandégne Ouolof, Diokoul Diawrigne, Kab Gaye, Ndande, Tessekere Forage, Labgar, Gassane, Thiel, Thiargny ».
« La composante 2 de ce projet, vise à appuyer les maires de ces communes soutenues par le PROCASEF pour enregistrer systématiquement les droits fonciers », a-t-elle poursuivi.
Elle a salué « la volonté partagée et l’engagement de tous les acteurs à réussir le chantier de la mise en œuvre des activités du PROCASEF pour la sécurisation foncière en zone rurale et périurbaine et dans la région de Louga ».

“We are happy to take part in this first workshop because the costs of demarcation occupy an important place in the budgetary nomenclature, and cause a lot of ink and saliva to flow at the level of the municipalities”, declared the representative of the Association of Mayors of Senegal (AMS), Abdallah Ba.
He pointed out that there is a great disparity depending on whether the municipality is urban or peri-urban concerning the cost of demarcation. « So, we are happy today with our partners to participate in this workshop to raise awareness of mayors for the implementation of almost free demarcation fees and the registration of property rights », he said. rejoiced.
