Africa-Press – Senegal. Senegal’s national women’s under-25 team was beaten 87-59 by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) team on Wednesday in a match friendly counting for the NBA Academy of Saly, noted the APS.

The gold medalist Lionesses of the Francophonie Games had nevertheless started to reduce the gap at the start of the 2nd half with a score of 40 against 47 before the Senegal coach asked for a timeout putting an end to the momentum of the players.

Julie Dacosta, the pivot of the Senegalese team, had already scored 9 points at half-time against 13 for UCLA leader Londynn Jones.

The UCLA team materialized 22 points in counterattack against only 5 points for the lionesses of Senegal at the end of the match.

The Lionesses coach was disqualified by the referee 7 minutes from the end of the match for claiming a foul.
