Ziguinchor: rulers called to listen more to the rural world

Africa-Press – Senegal. The outgoing president of the Movement of Catholic Rural Adults in Senegal (MARCS), Jacques Maxime Badji called, on Wednesday, the rulers to listen more to the rural world to know their real development needs.

“The rural world has been left behind for generations while it feeds everyone. We do not function without the rural environment. A country develops from the rural world. It is therefore necessary that the rulers still listen attentively and intensively to the rural world to know its real needs, “said M Badji during an interview with the APS.

However, he praised « the efforts made by the State of Senegal for the development of rural areas ». “The State, according to him, has made an effort to develop the rural environment even if many people do not believe in it. »

« There are efforts being made in relation to the development of the rural world even if it is insufficient in relation to the real needs », he insisted.

Concerning the movement of rural Catholic adults in Senegal, he explained that he works for the transformation of the rural world by articulating social commitment, professional family and spiritual life.

« The movement has worked, among other things, on land grabbing, on the anarchic occupation of land, on marriage, in particular against the high cost of the dowry », said Jacques Maxime Badji who was the president of the said movement for ten years. .

Les membres du mouvement des adultes ruraux catholiques au Sénégal (MARCS) ont récemment renouvelé leur bureau.
