Africa-Press – Senegal. Coaches Malick Daff and Pape Bouna Thiaw unveiled, on Wednesday, the final list of Senegal reduced to 23 players for the match of the sixth and final day of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers , against Rwanda, Saturday at the Huye stadium.
Daff and Thiaw had published a list of 31 players for the match against Rwanda last Wednesday. The two Senegalese technicians reduced the list to 23 players before flying off to Rwanda on Wednesday afternoon.
It is made up of players from the national under-20 team and footballers from the local national team. These two teams are respectively defending champions of the CAN under 20 and winner of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Rwanda and Senegal share pool L of the CAN 2024 qualifiers with Benin and Mozambique.
The Lions of Senegal, leaders of the group with 13 points, obtained the qualification from the fourth day of the playoffs.
The Rwandans, bottom of the group with two points, were eliminated.
Mozambique (7 points), second, and Benin (5 points), third, will compete for the only remaining qualifying ticket, during this last day.
