Lamine Camara of FC Metz (French elite) and Abdoulaye Niakhate Ndiaye of ESTAC Troyes in the French league 2, selected for the first time in the national team A, say they are « happy to have achieved their dream and promise to continue to learn and progress with their elders.
“When I learned of my first selection, I was very moved. It’s something every footballer expects. It was a tremendous emotion. It was my goal, my dream and I am here today,” Camara said in comments posted on the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) website.
“Senegal has a great team made up of good players. Our duty is to stay behind them to learn from their experience. We came to learn and bring the little experience we have in the group,” adds the 19-year-old.
The best player of the last African Cup of Nations under 20 entrusts « unique moments » in the lair. “The group is doing well. It’s great to sit at the same table, train and experience unique moments with players that we only saw on television,” enthused Camara.
Called for the first time in the first team as well as Lamine Camara, defender Abdoulaye Niakhate Ndiaye hopes to never leave the den. “I am happy to join the A selection. Every young player dreams of joining the A team. We are there. We will redouble our efforts to stay and continue to participate in Senegal’s next matches,” said the 21-year-old.
“We will continue to progress with the team and learn from their experience. We will remain available for the group and for the coach. Our real objective is to continue to progress”, continues the former captain of the national Olympic team.
The two young players are part of a list of 25 players selected by the coach of the national football team, Aliou Cissé, in view of the international friendly match against Algeria scheduled for next Tuesday in Dakar.
