Africa-Press – Senegal. The President of the Republic, Macky Sall congratulated, on his social accounts, the Senegal national handibasket team for its qualification in the semi-finals of the first Paralympic Games in Accra in Ghana after three group match victories.

“Warm congratulations to our national Paralympic basketball team which has just brilliantly achieved three victories in the group (match) at the first African Games in the category,” wrote the Head of State.

In his message, Mr. Sall wished the Lions “good luck” for the semi-finals. They are waiting to know their opponents.

The Senegalese disabled basketball players beat South Africa 62 points to 29 in their third match.

They won in their first outing against Egypt, 64 points to 62, before largely dominating Kenya with a score of 103 points to 22.

The competition continues until September 14 in Accra, Ghana. The best team in the tournament will represent Africa in the play-off matches to try to qualify for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
