Africa-Press – Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>Le directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la Fondation L\u00e9opold S\u00e9dar Senghor, Rapha\u00ebl Ndiaye, a \u00e9voqu\u00e9, mardi, \u2018\u2019le grand respect\u2019\u2019 qu\u2019avait le pr\u00e9sident-po\u00e8te L\u00e9opold S\u00e9dar Senghor (1906-2001) \u00e0 l\u2019endroit du savant \u00e9gyptologue Cheikh Anta Diop (1923-1986), pr\u00e9cisant que leurs relations \u00e9taient \u00e0 deux niveaux.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Les Relations entre L\u00e9opold S\u00e9dar Senghor et Cheikh Anta Diop \u00e9taient de deux niveaux et le premier, le plus important, s\u2019agissait de la communaut\u00e9 dans la bataille pour l\u2019affirmation et le respect de l\u2019homme noir\u2019\u2019, pr\u00e9cise-t-il dans un entretien accord\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019APS.<\/p>\n

Il a soulign\u00e9 que le deuxi\u00e8me niveau est la bataille politique o\u00f9 les deux hommes avaient \u2018\u2019une divergence de points de vue totalement radicale\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

Selon Rapha\u00ebl Ndiaye, cette divergence politique a fait que L\u00e9opold S\u00e9dar Senghor a combattu Cheikh Anta Diop en interdisant son parti politique le Rassemblement national d\u00e9mocratique (RND) cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1976 et officiellement reconnu en 1981, apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9part du pouvoir de Senghor.<\/p>\n

Le \u2018\u2019Siggi\u2019\u2019 (se relever en wolof) de Cheikh Anta Diop est aussi censur\u00e9 pour motif que la g\u00e9min\u00e9e de Siggi est une faute d\u2019orthographe. Cheikh Anta Diop le remplace alors par \u2018\u2019Taxaw\u2019\u2019 (debout en wolof).<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019C\u2019est d\u2019ailleurs avec lui qu\u2019il a cr\u00e9\u00e9 l\u2019expression +crypto personnel+, mais il avait un grand respect pour Cheikh Anta Diop\u2019\u2019, a-t-il fait valoir.<\/p>\n

Du point de vue politique, pr\u00e9cise-t-il, \u2018\u2019 il n\u2019\u00e9tait pas d\u2019accord, car il faut savoir que Cheikh Anta Diop n\u2019a pas gouvern\u00e9. Il aurait n\u00e9cessairement eu des accointances avec un camp ou l\u2019autre si c\u2019\u00e9tait le cas\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

Rapha\u00ebl Ndiaye raconte que L\u00e9opold S\u00e9dar Senghor n\u2019a pas fait de cadeau \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gyptologue, car \u2018\u2019il l\u2019a mis en prison pendant un mois puis a \u00e9t\u00e9 lib\u00e9r\u00e9\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Cheikh Anta Diop n\u2019est pas un homme politique, c\u2019est un homme de science. Il aurait d\u00fb se limiter \u00e0 la science\u2019\u2019, estime d\u2019ailleurs M. Ndiaye.<\/p>\n

Lors d\u2019une audience avec Rapha\u00ebl Ndiaye en 1987 juste apr\u00e8s la mort de Cheikh Anta Diop, L\u00e9opold S\u00e9dar Senghor lui a demand\u00e9 s\u2019il a lu \u2018\u2019Civilisation ou barbarie, anthologie sans complaisance\u2019\u2019 de Cheikh Anta Diop, publi\u00e9 en 1981 par \u2018\u2019Pr\u00e9sence africaine\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Oui je l\u2019ai lu. Il me r\u00e9pond : Cheikh Anta ne sait pas jusqu\u2019\u00e0 quel point il a raison\u2019\u2019, rapporte le directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la fondation Senghor.<\/p>\n

Car selon Senghor, \u2018\u2019les th\u00e9ories du scientifique Cheikh Anta Diop est une fa\u00e7on d\u2019illustrer la n\u00e9gritude\u2019\u2019, un terme apparu avant 1935 et qui est d\u00e9fini comme l\u2019ensemble des valeurs du monde noir.<\/p>\n

Le premier pr\u00e9sident du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal ind\u00e9pendant, a rappel\u00e9 M. Ndiaye, s\u2019est retrouv\u00e9 avec Cheikh Anta Diop au mariage de Me Boucounta Diallo au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1980 et les deux hommes ont discut\u00e9 pendant quarante minutes apr\u00e8s s\u2019\u00eatre jet\u00e9 dans les bras de l\u2019un contre l\u2019autre.<\/p>\n

Rapha\u00ebl Ndiaye raconte qu\u2019\u00e0 la mort de Cheikh Anta Diop en 1986, le po\u00e8te-pr\u00e9sident a adress\u00e9 une correspondance \u00e0 son n\u2019\u00e9pouse Louise Marie Maes Diop (d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e en 2016 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge 90 ans), une lettre de condol\u00e9ance lue devant tous ses enfants.<\/p>\n

Il souligne aussi qu\u2019un num\u00e9ro sp\u00e9cial de la revue culturelle s\u00e9n\u00e9galaise \u00e0 vocation panafricaine \u00e9dit\u00e9e en langue fran\u00e7aise \u2018\u2019Ethiopiques\u2019\u2019 a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 Cheikh Anta Diop.<\/p>\n

Aujourd\u2019hui, annonce le directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la fondation, l\u2019id\u00e9e de deux colloques est en train d\u2019\u00eatre formul\u00e9e autour des th\u00e8mes \u2018\u2019L\u00e9opold S\u00e9dar Senghor et Cheikh Anta Diop : Divergences et convergences ? \u2018\u2019 et \u2018\u2019L\u00e9opold S\u00e9dar Senghor et Mamadou Dia : Divergences et convergences ?\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Ces th\u00e8mes nous permettraient de d\u00e9passer cette opposition o\u00f9 nous perdons de l\u2019\u00e9nergie, pour b\u00e2tir une synth\u00e8se en voyant ce que ces grands hommes ont eu de mieux comme id\u00e9es pour le pays\u2019\u2019, a-t-il dit.<\/p>\n

Rapha\u00ebl Ndiaye estime \u2018\u2019nous perdons trop de temps \u00e0 nous livrer \u00e0 des batailles pour s\u2019opposer les uns aux autres alors que l\u2019\u00e9nergie positive pourrait \u00eatre mobiliser pour faire avancer le pays\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

L\u2019ancien chef d\u2019Etat est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 le 20 d\u00e9cembre 2001, \u00e0 Verson, une commune de la France, o\u00f9 il vivait depuis son d\u00e9part volontaire du pouvoir, le 31 d\u00e9cembre 1980. Il fut le premier noir \u00e0 obtenir l\u2019agr\u00e9gation de grammaire et \u00e0 si\u00e9ger \u00e0 l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie fran\u00e7aise.<\/p>\n
