Africa-Press – Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>Imam Thierno Seydou Tall, of the Omarienne mosque, in Dakar, invited the Senegalese, Friday, during the prayer of Eid el-Fitr, to preserve unity and values of the nation.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Senegalese must be united and indivisible. Division is beneficial to no one. We must refuse it,\u00a0\u00bb the religious leader said in his sermon.<\/p>\n

He also invited his compatriots to \u00ab\u00a0avoid violence\u00a0\u00bb, the consequences of which, according to him, are always unpredictable.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Violence must be avoided. We always know when it starts but we never know how and when it will stop,\u201d warned Thierno Seydou Tall.<\/p>\n

The religious leader also called for the \u201cpreservation of the values\u201d of the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must preserve our values \u200b\u200band avoid divisions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

For his part, the caliph of the Omar family, Thierno Madani Tall, insisted on the importance of the \u00ab\u00a0zakaat al fitr\u00a0\u00bb, the obligatory gift due to the poor.<\/p>\n

\u201cZakaat al fitr is also a way to validate and purify the Ramadan fast,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Thierno Madani Tall formulated prayers for \u201cpeace and stability\u201d in Senegal and the world.<\/p>\n

Alioune Ndoye, the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, who came to represent the President of the Republic and the other members of the government, welcomed the sermon of Imam Thierno Seydou Tall.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Its message is to be welcomed, which essentially revolves around the call for peace and calm in the country,\u00a0\u00bb he said.<\/p>\n

Journalist and politician Mamoudou Ibra Kane also welcomed the religious leader’s sermon. He invited people to promote \u00ab\u00a0non-violence\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0I think the message is clear. The imam invites people to pull themselves together knowing that an election is only a stage in the march of a nation […] Senegal will continue its march, \u00a0\u00bb said Kane, leader of the movement \u00a0\u00bb Tomorrow is now!\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

The faithful who came in large numbers to prayer gave thanks to God for allowing them to spend a \u201cgood blessed month\u201d of Ramadan, from which they hope to \u201charvest graces\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mamadou Ba\u0302, a faithful, says he prayed for the \u00ab\u00a0peace and social cohesion of the country\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Mame Sokhna Ndiaye, she also formulated prayers asking the good Lord to appease \u201cthe hearts of the Senegalese\u201d.<\/p>\n
