Africa-Press – Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>The Senegalese El Hadji Oumar Se\u0300ye was elected, Sunday in Dakar, unanimously, president of the African Surfing Confederation (CAS), replacing the Moroccan Mohamed Kadmiri.<\/p>\n

El Hadji Oumar Seye, vice-president of the Senegalese Surfing Federation (FSS), was elected at the CAS General Assembly.<\/p>\n

Born in 1977 in Ngor, a former professional surfer, he signed his first professional contract in 1995. After a 25-year career, he entered the business world as an economic operator.<\/p>\n

Vice-president of the Senegalese Surfing Federation (FSS), the pioneer of surfing in Africa is also coach of the national surfing team and vice-president of the African Confederation of the discipline.<\/p>\n

The native of Ngor, a fervent protector of the marine environment, is also the general manager of the World Surf League in West Africa and founder of the Africa Tour.<\/p>\n

He is also one of the founding members of the African Surfing Confederation set up in 2017, by South Africa, Ivory Coast, Cape Verde, Madagascar, Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301 and Morocco.<\/p>\n

El Hadji Oumar Se\u0300ye is described as \u201ca passionate surfer, the first black to be a professional in the surfing world\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe lives and breathes for surfing. He only knows that. He will be up to it. We are proud of him. We will be at his side for the success of this mission\u201d, declared the Secretary General of the Senegalese National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSS) Seydina Oumar Diagne.<\/p>\n
