{"id":43451,"date":"2023-04-25T20:18:39","date_gmt":"2023-04-25T20:18:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/senegal\/politique\/senegal-economy-cooperation-credaf-in-conclave-in-dakar-to-reflect-on-strategies-for-promoting-tax-citizenship"},"modified":"2023-04-25T20:32:09","modified_gmt":"2023-04-25T20:32:09","slug":"senegal-economy-cooperation-credaf-in-conclave-in-dakar-to-reflect-on-strategies-for-promoting-tax-citizenship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/senegal\/economie\/senegal-economy-cooperation-credaf-in-conclave-in-dakar-to-reflect-on-strategies-for-promoting-tax-citizenship","title":{"rendered":"SENEGAL-ECONOMY-COOPERATION \/ CREDAF in conclave in Dakar to reflect on strategies for promoting tax citizenship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>Representatives of the 30 member countries of the Circle of Reflections for Exchanges of Tax Administration Leaders (CREDAF) began, Tuesday in Dakar, a seminar of reflection on strategies for promoting tax citizenship in order to to improve the revenue of the various Member States.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of this meeting is to share the experiences and expertise of the 30 member countries of CREDAF to achieve the voluntary fulfillment of citizens&rsquo; tax obligations.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0This seminar will make it possible to promote best practices between countries but also to compare their tax practices and take the best of them in order to improve their tax revenues\u00a0\u00bb declared the secretary general of the organization, Catherine Lemesle during of the opening of the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>This two-day seminar is in perspective of the annual conference of the circle of reflections of exchanges of tax administration leaders scheduled from 13 to 16 in Guinea.<\/p>\n<p>For Abdoulaye Diagne, Director General of Taxes and Estates of Senegal, \u201cthe idea is to be able to declare and pay taxes spontaneously. because, he believes, \u00ab\u00a0if we manage to promote fiscal citizenship, the States will incur less expenditure to recover revenues and the management of public expenditure will only be more optimized\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Abdoulaye Diagne also believes that it is necessary for States to increase communication with taxpayers so that citizens are aware of the importance of taxes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0The citizen must be made aware of the importance of taxes and the need to have to pay them without being forced to do so,\u00a0\u00bb he insisted.<\/p>\n<p>The Director General of Imports and Domains welcomed the progress noted in Senegal, particularly in the education sector where courses in tax citizenship have been initiated. \u00ab\u00a0This initiative will allow the child to integrate taxation from an early age into his obligations towards the State\u00a0\u00bb, he argued.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar is also focused on sub-themes such as digital at the service of tax citizenship, transparency and accountability, education and communication. Workshops are also planned on the fight against corruption, the registration of taxpayers and the pre-filling of tax declarations.<\/p>\n<p>Digital at the service of the tax system, refers more to the facilitation of procedures for fulfilling tax obligations, in particular registrations, electronic declaration, electronic payment, electronic invoicing, pre-filling of declarations, online registration of cards through the use of solutions digital\u201d, informs a document given to the press.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTransparency and accountability are underpinned by the issue of governance, which covers such important issues as the fight against corruption and ethics, the search for efficiency in the evaluation of public policies,\u201d we read. -in the same text.<\/p>\n<p>The Tax Administration Leaders Discussion Circle (CREDAF) was created in 1982 in Yaounde\u0301, Cameroon.
