Africa-Press – Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>Public health specialist Dr. Mama Moussa Diaw, in his book titled \u201cThe Punishment,\u201d discusses begging and violence against talibe\u0301 children in Koranic schools (daaras).<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a major theme that has been developed in the book, namely begging. We are trying to figure out what type of begging should we have? We need more professionalism within the daaras so that the children are no longer used to fetch food with a whole number of taxes put in place by the teachers,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Intervenant a\u0300 l\u2019occasion de la ce\u0301le\u0301bration, mercredi de la Journe\u0301e mondiale du livre et du droit d\u2019auteur, a\u0300 Matam, l\u2019auteur a fait savoir que les versements impose\u0301s aux e\u0301le\u0300ves rele\u0300guent au second plan les enseignements que l\u2019enfant devait recevoir.<\/p>\n

According to him, in a vulnerable situation, the child is afraid to return to the daara for not having collected the necessary sum for the payment. \u00ab\u00a0On this point, the child becomes a prey next to many predators who can take advantage of the situation of vulnerability to abuse children\u00a0\u00bb, suggested Dr. Diaw.<\/p>\n

Il signale que dans ce livre, il veut changer le regard que les gens ont des talibe\u0301s dans le but de pousser les populations a\u0300 s\u2019interroger sur la situation de ces enfants.
