Africa-Press – Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) took the decision on Tuesday to suspend, until further notice, all football competitions, throughout the national territory, learned the same day. the APS of the federal authority.<\/p>\n

In a circular letter, the FSF says it took this decision because of the \u201csocio-political tension and the security situation that has reigned in Dakar for a few days\u201d.<\/p>\n

The leader of Pastef, mayor of Ziguinchor (South) and declared candidate for the presidential election of February 2024, was sentenced on Thursday to two years in prison by the Criminal Chamber of the Dakar High Court for \u201ccorruption of the youth\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

He was on trial for charges of repetitive rape and death threats. Accusations brought against him by Adji Sarr, a former masseuse from a beauty salon in Dakar. The opponent was absent from the trial.<\/p>\n

The announcement of the verdict led to violence in Dakar, Ziguinchor (south) and in other localities of the country. Sixteen deaths and numerous material damages were recorded, according to the Ministry of the Interior.<\/p>\n

The Federation invites the presidents of the amateur football league (LFA), the professional football league and the presidents of clubs and regional football leagues to \u201cstrictly respect this suspension measure\u201d.<\/p>\n
