Africa-Press – Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>Members of the High Council of Territorial Collectivities (HCCT) welcomed Wednesday in Diogo, in the department of Tivaouane, the actions carried out by the mining company Grande Co\u0302te Ope\u0301ration (GCO) for the benefit of local communities, within the framework of corporate social responsibility, while making suggestions.<\/p>\n

Apre\u0300s que les conseillers ont visite\u0301 les villages riverains be\u0301ne\u0301ficiaires des actions de la compagnie minie\u0300re GCO, Gnilane Ndiaye, pre\u0301sidente de la commission nume\u0301ro 11 des affaires foncie\u0300res, domaniales et territoriales du HCCT, a salue\u0301, au nom de ses camarades, la posture des responsables du volet de la responsabilite\u0301 socie\u0301tale d\u2019entreprise (RSE) de GCO.<\/p>\n

The company has built houses and basic social infrastructure in resettlement sites hosting displaced communities. It also supports communities with inputs for market gardening.<\/p>\n

GCO a de\u0301marre\u0301 ses ope\u0301rations depuis 2014 dans la commune de Darou Khoudoss, dans le de\u0301partement de Tivaouane. Cette socie\u0301te\u0301 y exploite des sables mine\u0301ralise\u0301s, notamment le zircon, l\u2019ilme\u0301nite, le rutile et le leucoxe\u0300ne, a\u0300 travers une mine itine\u0301rante, ce qui fait qu\u2019elle est amene\u0301e a\u0300 de\u0301localiser certaines communaute\u0301s.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous avons constate\u0301 qu\u2019ils ont fait beaucoup de re\u0301alisations, en aidant les communaute\u0301s \u00bb, a dit a\u0300 la presse Gnilane Ndiaye, relevant que la seule fausse note constate\u0301e par la de\u0301le\u0301gation, concerne l\u2019e\u0301tat \u00ab de\u0301sastreux \u00bb de la piste late\u0301ritique qui me\u0300ne au village de Diogo.<\/p>\n

For him, the five achievements recorded by GCO up to Lompoul (Louga), were made possible by the support of local authorities, through their commissions.<\/p>\n
