In reality, management autonomy allows the regulatory authority to have and manage its budget autonomously,\u00a0\u00bb underlined the director general of ARTP.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"483\" height=\"457\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-46333 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/senegal\/sites\/13\/2023\/06\/sm_1687534415.539857.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/senegal\/sites\/13\/2023\/06\/sm_1687534415.539857.jpg 483w, https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/senegal\/sites\/13\/2023\/06\/sm_1687534415.539857-300x284.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is preferable that \u201cthe regulator be financed by royalties or taxes from the sector, not by the state budget\u201d, Abdou Karim Sall told the leaders of the Assembly of Telecommunications Regulators of Central Africa.<\/p>\n<p>He insisted on the training which, in his view, must be adequate, permanent and above all of quality to meet the requirements of the personnel of the regulatory authorities, according to the press release.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0In this sector, technologies and needs are advancing very rapidly\u00a0\u00bb, underlined Mr. Sall, adding that the agents of the regulatory bodies \u00ab\u00a0must not be less trained than those of the operators\u00a0\u00bb, under &lsquo; their independence.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Today, with new issues such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of things, fintechs, OTT, social networks and e-commerce, this training is imperative to avoid corruption and the capture\u00a0\u00bb of regulatory bodies \u00ab\u00a0by the operators\u00a0\u00bb, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0The notion of regulation is often misunderstood by the public.
