Africa-Press – Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>The Disciplinary Committee of the Senegalese Professional Football League (LSFP) has sentenced AS Pikine to a fine of one million CFA francs for \u00ab\u00a0unbecoming behavior by its supporters\u00a0\u00bb, during of the match of the 22nd day against Jaraaf, at the Stade Alasane Djigo.<\/p>\n

Incidents broke out during this match between the two teams. Official match reports indicate that the bus carrying the Jaraaf players was attacked by AS Pikine supporters, who threw sachets of water at the visiting team’s staff.<\/p>\n

After the Medina club opened the scoring, spectators believed to be AS Pikine supporters started throwing stones on the lawn, forcing the referee to suspend the match.<\/p>\n

At the end of regulation time, part of the public invaded the lawn to insult and threaten the match commissioner and the referees. A situation that forced \u201cthe police to use tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Disciplinary Committee took this decision in application of Article 105 of the Disciplinary Code, which specifies that \u201cthe facts related in the reports of match officials are presumed to be accurate\u201d.<\/p>\n

Thus, it decided to apply article 74 of the said code which makes \u201cresponsible the host league, the host club for the inappropriate behavior of its spectators, without any faulty behavior or failure being attributable to it\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Disciplinary Committee of the LSFP considers that this behavior \u00ab\u00a0constitutes an attack on honor, fair play and sporting morality\u00a0\u00bb and decides to impose a fine of one million francs on AS Pikine. CFA to be paid before its next release.<\/p>\n

The suburban club is also condemned to play the rest of its official matches of the current season on neutral ground and behind closed doors.<\/p>\n

AS Pikine has three days to appeal.<\/p>\n

The leaders of the offending club have promised to provide \u201cclarifications\u201d.<\/p>\n
