Africa-Press – Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>Senegal keeps its 18th place in the world as well as its second African place in the latest FIFA world rankings, APS learned from the world football governing body on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Senegal keep their same positions thanks to their draw against Benin in the qualifiers for the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Co\u0302te d’Ivoire (January 13-February 11), a competition in which they qualified, and his victory, 4-2, against Brazil, in an international friendly match.<\/p>\n

Morocco has fallen two places in the world rankings, leaving 11th for 13th place, but retains its first African place. The Atlas Lions, already qualified for the next CAN, were beaten 2-1 by South Africa (qualified) on the fifth day of these qualifiers. Five days earlier, they had drawn and goalless against Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

Tunisia retains third place in Africa, but fell three places globally. The Eagles of Carthage left 28th for 31st place.<\/p>\n

On the other hand Algeria and Egypt, 4th and 5th have, for their part, still made good progress. The Fennecs left 34th for 33rd place and the Pharaohs 35th for 34th.<\/p>\n

Nigeria, sixth in Africa, moved up a rank at the world level, moving from 40th to 39th place.<\/p>\n

Mali performed well at the African level, moving up from 10th to 8th place in Africa and three places globally. From 53rd place, they went to 50th.<\/p>\n

Co\u0302te d’Ivoire has plummeted in the African rankings, dropping from 8th place to 9th place. Globally, they fell from 45th place to 51st.<\/p>\n

In this new FIFA ranking, Argentina, reigning world champion, retains its first place. France, vice-champion, is second, and Brazil, third. England and Belgium are fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n

The next ranking will be published on July 20.<\/p>\n
