Africa-Press – Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>D\u2019anciens candidats a\u0300 l\u2019e\u0301migration clandestine se sont reconvertis dans l\u2019agriculture, l\u2019horticulture et la volaille a\u0300 Malem-Hodar, dans la re\u0301gion de Kaffrine (centre), avec l\u2019aide de l\u2019Institut se\u0301ne\u0301galais de recherches agricoles (ISRA) et de l\u2019Agence nationale d\u2019insertion et de de\u0301veloppement agricole (ANIDA), a constate\u0301 l\u2019APS.<\/b>
\nTwenty-five young people work on this \u00ab\u00a0Naatangue\u0301\u00a0\u00bb farm (the Wolof word for development) located in the south of the Malem-Hodar department. This type of agricultural area has been popularized since 2018 as part of a project to combat illegal emigration.<\/b>
\nThe municipal council of Malem-Hodar has granted land to its promoters to promote the \u201csocio-economic reintegration\u201d of former migrants and help them earn a living.<\/b>

\n\u201cWe planted a lot of trees, including acacias, lemon trees, mango trees and cashew trees,\u201d says Ibrahima Ndao, the farm coordinator. Beyond the economic income derived from agricultural and horticultural activities, the initiative has the advantage of greening the space, in this area known for its aridity in the dry season.<\/b>
\nThe farm operators ensure the diversity of crops. Corn, sorghum and other cereals are grown together with eggplant, onion, tomato, cabbage, pepper, etc.<\/b>
\nArboriculture is developing. The moringa oleifera and the lemon tree are present alongside other trees.<\/b>
\nBut in this period of dry season, the onion is the most cultivated food. It generates significant income, says Ibrahima Ndao, adding that it is the favorite economic culture of former migrants now determined to make a living from agriculture.<\/b>
\n\u00ab\u00a0The farm has completely transformed our lives\u00a0\u00bb<\/b>
\nThe 20 kilo bag of onions is sold at 7,000 CFA francs, or 350 CFA francs per kilo, says Mr. Ndao. According to him, each of the farmers can earn 800,000 CFA francs at the end of each agricultural campaign. \u00ab\u00a0We don’t envy anyone, because the farm has completely transformed our lives,\u00a0\u00bb he insists.<\/b>
\nSome of the former migrants have built houses and support their families with income from the \u00ab\u00a0Naatangue\u0301\u00a0\u00bb farm in Malem-Hodar, \u00ab\u00a0without expecting anything from the state\u00a0\u00bb, according to Mr. Ndao.<\/b>
\n\u2018\u2019Il faut que les jeunes retournent a\u0300 la terre en exploitant les ressources locales. C\u2019est possible\u2019\u2019, soutient-il.<\/b>
\nL\u2019ANIDA, l\u2019Agence nationale d\u2019insertion et de de\u0301veloppement agricole, a implante\u0301 dans la ferme \u2018\u2019Naatangue\u0301\u2019\u2019 de Malem-Hodar un poulailler de quelque 2.000 sujets et l\u2019a dote\u0301 de plusieurs e\u0301quipements, selon Ibrahima Ndao.<\/b>
\n\u2018\u2019Cette ferme a cre\u0301e\u0301 beaucoup d\u2019emplois, surtout pour les candidats a\u0300 l\u2019e\u0301migration clandestine, qui ont de\u0301cide\u0301 de retourner au Se\u0301ne\u0301gal et d\u2019y travailler\u2019\u2019, assure-t-il, affirmant que les femmes de Malem-Hodar n\u2019ont plus besoin de sortir de la commune pour s\u2019approvisionner en le\u0301gumes.<\/b>
\n\u2018\u2019C\u2019est une ferme tre\u0300s rentable pour les populations de Malem-Hodar, qui parcouraient les marche\u0301s a\u0300 la recherche de le\u0301gumes. Maintenant, elles ache\u0300tent les re\u0301coltes de la ferme et les revendent ailleurs\u2019\u2019, te\u0301moigne M. Ndao.<\/b>
\nSelon lui, la ferme \u2018\u2019Naatangue\u0301\u2019\u2019 a fait de Malem-Hodar l\u2019un des principaux centres d\u2019approvisionnement en produits agricoles et horticoles de la re\u0301gion de Kaffrine. Le poulet vendu par les exploitants attire de plus en plus de consommateurs et de commerc\u0327ants, dit-il.<\/b>
\n\u2018\u2019Les femmes viennent faire beaucoup de commandes pour aller revendre a\u0300 3.500 francs CFA le poulet dans les marche\u0301s de la re\u0301gion\u2019\u2019, affirme Ibrahima Ndao. Selon lui, elles veulent maintenant acque\u0301rir une chambre froide, une voiture pour le transport des marchandises et un tracteur.<\/b><\/p>\n
