Africa-Press – Senegal. <\/strong><\/span>The Nave\u0301tanes movement, these popular sports and recreational activities in the neighborhoods, are an integral part of the national sports policy defined by the public authorities, Prime Minister Amadou Ba said on Saturday at the official opening of the national phases in Kaffrine (center-west).<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0The Nave\u0301tanes movement is an integral part of the sports policy defined by the President of the Republic\u00a0\u00bb, said the head of government Amadou Ba, also Minister in charge of Sports.<\/p>\n

He presided over the official opening ceremony of the national phases, a football tournament and cultural performances which brings together several football teams from different regions of the country.<\/p>\n

Several members of the government, administrative and territorial authorities, associations of women and young people and actors of the sports and associative movement took part in this ceremony of opening of the national phases sponsored by the mayor of Kaffrine Abdoulaye Saydou Sow.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe national phases are on a large scale. Their regularity and their content occupy an important place in the national sports policy\u201d, continued Amadou Ba, considering that the Nave\u0301tanes movement contributes \u201cto the social education of the masses\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0The Nave\u0301tanes movement is certainly a sports practice, but it is also and above all a cultural practice and services with youth activities and other initiatives in the social education of the masses on the basis of community actions on economic development. and social and volunteering,\u201d Mr. Ba explained.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The head of government made the link between the Nave\u0301tanes movement and public policies related to youth employment such as the \u00ab\u00a0Xeyu Ndaw Yi\u00a0\u00bb program in the perspective of the organization of the Youth Olympic Games scheduled for 2026 in Senegal.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0For the Youth Olympic Games in 2026, efforts are also being made by the government to strengthen the sports offer and policy, with the recruitment and training of stewards,\u00a0\u00bb he said.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister urged the actors to work so that the activities of the Nave\u0301tanes movement take place in \u00ab\u00a0sportsmanship, fair play with a view to consolidating the policy of emergence and development, but also to strengthening democracy and rule of law\u201d.<\/p>\n

In Kaffrine, Amadou Ba mentioned a national program for the development of sports infrastructure in the regions, for which the government \u201cworks in perfect collaboration with local authorities and the private sector\u201d.<\/p>\n
