Africa-Press – Seychelles. People faced with challenges as a result of the rise in the cost of living, issues including relationship break-ups, lack of sense of purpose, health problems among others and would like to live a more wholesome and fulfilling life can seek help and advice in an ongoing holistic healing fair at the Camion Hall, Victoria.

The Seychelles Holistic Fair which started yesterday is to offer clients alternative remedies to health problems to improve their lives.

The fair is showcasing services and products that help people feel informed, beautiful, and supported so they can approach their health from a place of empowerment.

A number of services such as aura reading, somatic therapy, intuitive guidance and products such as Bible quotes, flowers, vegetables, locally made healing creams, cosmetics, prayer candles, incense, crystals, singing bowls among other products are available for people to choose from.

A member of the Seychelles Holistic Fair organising team, Margaret Moumou, said that they wanted to make the public aware of the availability of the services and products as alternative cures to their physical health and also who the service providers are.

People who visited the fair yesterday also had the opportunity to engage and to interact in a number of short talks on topics such as crystal healing, energy therapy and meditation.

Compared to the days of our fore parents, everyone agrees that life has become more facilitated. We can sit at home and order products online, we have machines that help us clean our home and for many people their office can be anywhere.

This new ease of life has, however, been counterbalanced by a stressful drive to compete, to achieve and to remain abreast of the newbies of life. Many are faced with the challenges of the increased cost of living, while others deal with issues including relationship break-ups, lack of sense of purpose, health problems among others.

What can we do to have a more wholesome and fulfilling life?

Holistic health is about having harmony in the physical, financial, emotional, and spiritual aspects of life. Our physical health includes healthy nutrition which can be a combination of nature’s provision such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and proteins. Excess sugars and processed foods are detrimental to our wellbeing. The heavy use of fertilisers can damage the quality of the foods we eat. Therefore, conscious and informed buying is important so we consume healthy sources of food. Physical exercise is also essential to ensure physical health and wellbeing as it reduces stress, manages weight and maintains muscle strengths and mobility.

Financial instability can result in overwork and stress. Being able to manage our budget brings about a calm state of mind. Our emotional health comprises of our ability to manage our thoughts, process our emotions and remain present and live with mindfulness.

While our spiritual health involves our connection and relationship with our Divine self, all these aspects of our life are equally important in enjoying holistic health.
